Gene Filtering

By default, CAP filters out genes which have been found by many researchers to be biologically non-informative for the purpose of distinguishing between cell types/cell states. Users may toggle this filter on and off. The following genes are filtered out when reporting differentially expressed genes displayed on the heatmap:

Mitochondrial genes and pseudogenes
Ribosomal genes and pseudogenes
Long non-coding RNA
TCR genes with exceptions for: TRAV1-2, TRGV9, TRDV2
BCR genes
